Meet Venessa Luck, MA
Licensed Psychologist in Vermont
About Me
I’m a licensed psychologist (M.A.) based in Colchester, Vermont - here to guide you through life’s most complex and difficult matters. My therapeutic orientation is a mix of different theories:
humanistic, psychodynamic, existential, feminist theory, somatic, and expressive arts approaches.

What this mean is that I work from a viewpoint that our past experiences impact the present moment, while also acknowledging the damage of certain systems on our internalized beliefs about ourselves.
A Bit About My Style of Therapy
I value therapy and have found the most joy in the work when sessions are built upon rapport, collaboration, and openness to feelings, rather than sessions where I am deemed the "professional" and give advice.

The ways in which I practice include awareness of the intersection of different systems of oppression, trauma-informed approaches, affirming of all identities, and an appreciation for the ways that past experiences influence the here-and-now.

You are the expert in YOUR life and my goal is to provide a space where you feel safe, heard, validated, and empathically challenged to find understanding of yourself, your goals, and what life you want to live.

When we work together we will:

-
Identify past experiences that are still feeling ALIVE today
-
BREAK free from the grips of perfectionism
-
Process emotions in a regulating, gentle way
-
Engage in developing healthy boundaries and coping skills that are sustainable for you
-
Develop a deeper understanding of who you are and how you want to show up in the world
-
Gain understanding of ways that you are triggered/activated and how to move through the feeling
